Silicon Valley Open Studios 2019

Where can you get free drinks and snacks and having interesting conversations during the weekend? Well, for 3 weeks in the year, you can count on Silicon Valley Open Studios. This weekend I visited several studios in Palo Alto. These are some of the artists whose work I found most interesting:
Michael Endicott: he is a photographer and he showed two pieces that he "overlaid" his images on top of canvas/background created by another painters.
LaRhee Webster: she did many painting that I called "Western style" (think cowboys)
Cathy Zander: she showed her works in several different media. She told me her parents suggested her to become an art teacher if she loved to do art for a living. So she actually got formal training (Master in Art Education) and thus very versatile. I was most impressed by her watercolors.
Hedda Hope: she has some impressive realistic flower paintings and even more interesting are the two paintings that she "magnified" the details of flower to the point that it looks more abstract than realistic.
Melanie Christie: her works use glass as the primary material and mosaic is her main technique. I haven't seen too many art works like hers.
